A Message From Our Principal and Assistant Principal
WELCOME BACK BETHEL BEARS! I am so excited that we will be returning to school 5 days a week. While I anticipate some bumps in the road, we are all working hard to ensure our students experience a safe and meaningful academic school year. I am very happy to introduce to you our thirteen new staff members! We have a new Assistant Principal and school nurse.  We are finally fully staffed after several years of losing teaching positions. We now have 4 classroom teachers per grade level. We have secured a computer teacher and an additional special education teacher. We also have a full-time speech language pathologist who will work exclusively with Bethel students. Two additional paraprofessionals have also been hired.  Please continue to read the Bethel Bearings for more information about our new staff. In this time of teacher shortages, I feel very fortunate to have secured these talented professionals.
Some other changes that will occur this school year are our supply fee and school calendar. Each student is only required to bring a book bag and two boxes of tissues to school. We are asking parents for a $20.00 school supply fee which will cover all of your child’s yearly school supplies. We are also excited that GCPS has finally been able to add four days to our school calendar, bringing our school year back to 180 school days. School will begin this school year on August 30. Please refer to the published school calendar for details of student school days.
Some things that will remain the same from last school year are required face coverings for all staff and students, social distancing, frequent hand washing and sanitation, and free breakfast and lunches. All students may be face covering free when outside for any reason. Students will also not be required to wear their face coverings during breakfast and lunch. Students may also take a 3-minute face covering break while seated at their desks. These face covering breaks can not total more than 15 minutes during the school day.
Bethel administration is committed to all of our students and families. Please feel free to call or email us should you ever have any concerns or questions.

Bethel Principal

Welcome back Bethel Bears!  My name is Ms. Tiffany Busch and I am so excited to be your new assistant principal!  I live here in Gloucester with my two children, Mattilyn (12), Mattox (6), and our dog, Diesel. This is my 15th year in education.  I taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade for ten years at T.C. Walker and Botetourt before becoming an assistant principal at Petsworth Elementary for the past 4 years. I love Starbucks, shopping, spending time with my family, baking, and watching true crime documentaries.
I absolutely love my job and the opportunities that it provides me to interact and develop relationships with our students and families.  I am dedicated to providing a safe and secure school environment where our students feel loved and cared for.  If Mrs. Kersmarki or I can be of any assistance, please don’t hesitate to call or email.    I look forward to getting to know the Bethel Bear family!
